May Peace Prevail on Earth

After dragging Topie through artistic displays of peace that she won't appreciate for decades when she finally realizes the importance of positive energies, we countered the seriousness of the moment by spending some time on the playground. As you can see, Topaz is a fan of the swings. Even more entertaining for her, however, was racing down the slides, dragging Kenya behind us. At the last minute, Kenny would panic and jump over Topie's head. It was so funny. We repeated it about eight-hundred times or so, just for the little Tope-ster's amusement.

Speaking of Kenya, she can be so pretty sometimes.

I thought this was so sweet---Topaz and Kenya walking down the steps together. Those two are like peas and carrots. Most mornings, Topie wakes up with her arms around Kenya's neck. Soooo cute!

Topaz thought this was a miniature house built solely for her. She tried so hard to find a way in!

This was me, trying to look fierce like a lion.

Right now, Topaz thinks she's Alex the lion from Madagascar II, so she was in heaven consorting with more of her kind!

This Russian display was neat and I would've loved to have read more of its plaques, but shortly after taking this picture, Topaz dropped my camera and I spent the next ten minutes crossing my fingers while attempting to pry the shutter back out. She's lucky I fixed it, but my pink sony will never be the same...

Every weekend I google attractions and commit Sunday afternoons to exploration of my new surroundings. The latest adventure took place at the International Peace Garden at Jordan Park. This time of year is was so/so, but without the flourishing foliage and vibrant blooms expected throughout the summer months, there were still some pretty poignant and impressive monuments. This stake says, "May Peace Prevail on Earth." I chose this destination because I WANTED to feel better about our planet, so this little landmark with the flags of neighboring countries in the background was exquisite.
